About Amity Middle School Bethany

Our Mission is to enable every Amity student to become a lifelong learner and a literate, caring, creative, and effective world citizen.

Serving students in grades 7 and 8 from Bethany and Woodbridge, Amity Middle School – Bethany (AMSB) provides a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed.

Students are organized into teams—Blue, Black, Gold, and Green—with teachers working together across Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Spanish to support learning and growth. Each team remains together while experiencing different class groupings throughout the day. Teachers collaborate to meet individual needs, communicate with families, and create meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for success in high school and beyond.

Attendance

AMSB Attendance Reporting & Policies

If your child is absent from school, please email us at AttendanceAMSB@amityregion5.org. A parent email or note must be submitted for absences 1-9 in order to excuse the absence. A doctor’s note is required for absences 10 and greater.

Field Trip Attendance Letter

Field trips are an extension of the classroom and therefore all school rules apply. Students who fail to exhibit appropriate behavior or attendance may be excluded from field trips.

District Attendance Communications

Amity Region 5 uses the SchoolMessenger Mass Notification System to provide timely communication to parents/guardians on numerous occasions not limited to things such as school closures, general information, attendance, and potential emergency situations. Contact information comes directly from PowerSchool and is updated on a nightly basis.

Transportation

Bus Routes & Transportation Info

Transportation by school bus is provided for all students. School transportation is an extension of the school day, and students are expected to follow the same behavior expectations on the bus as they do in school. Students may lose transportation privileges for unsafe behavior or violations of Board of Education policies.

Students may not walk or bicycle to or from school without written permission from a parent/guardian submitted to the school office in advance. Loitering near school grounds or along surrounding roads is not permitted due to safety concerns and interference with traffic.

Pupil Services provides a wide range of resources and services to support the academic, social-emotional, and physical well-being of all students. Families can access general health information, forms, and wellness resources, as well as information about the Pupil Services team, including nurses, special education teachers, psychologists, and other support personnel.

The Facilities Department maintains and supports safe, functional environments throughout all district and school buildings. The department oversees building operations, maintenance, grounds, custodial services, and facility scheduling to support students, staff, and the community.
