Middle School Frequently Asked Questions

Questions generated by 6th Grade Students and answered by 7th Grade Students

Advice from a 7th Grade Student: “You will do amazing, don't even worry I was scared too but middle school is the best, the teachers are the best and you do so much fun stuff. Remember don’t be stressed. The teachers know you don’t know what you're doing. It's very well known but you will get the hang of it if you got this. See you in middle school, can't wait!”

AMSB Teams

Teachers across Teams Blue, Green, Black, and Gold provide instruction in four core subjects: Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Teams Black and Gold serve 8th-grade students, while Teams Blue and Green serve 7th-grade students.

The World Language Team also meets regularly to collaborate on curriculum, instruction, and student learning. Together, team members design engaging lessons and meaningful learning experiences that strengthen language acquisition, develop communication skills, and deepen students’ understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.

While students are part of the same team, each class is a unique mix of learners, giving students opportunities to work with a variety of peers throughout the school day. Because team teachers share the same cohort of students, they work closely together to understand individual student needs, communicate with families, develop meaningful cross-curricular learning opportunities, and foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

This collaborative approach ensures that students are known, supported, and challenged throughout their middle school experience. By working together across disciplines and with families, our teams help students build the academic, social, and communication skills they need to thrive and feel confident as they prepare for high school.
